Falkirk Stadium

falk_stadium

One of the initiative’s most ambitious projects is the Falkirk Stadium, within the prime ‘gateway’ site, on the land south of the M9 between Falkirk and Grangemouth. A high quality design and build will ensure that the stadium becomes an icon for the regeneration of the Falkirk area. A joint venture company has been formed between Falkirk Council and Falkirk Football Club to run the facility.

Falkirk Stadium new phase is one step closer. The board of directors of Falkirk Community Stadium Ltd is recommending to shareholders that they approve plans to appoint Terrace Hill North East Ltd as developers, subject to contact agreements, for the next stage of construction. Falkirk Gateway

eco_Park

This £500 million project will facilitate quality development (over 120 hectares) of the prime ‘gateway’ site for Falkirk, at the Middlefield/Westfield site. With existing transport links and the associated development of The Falkirk Stadium at Westfield, this site has been identified for prime business and retail space. Development of the site is seen as a very visible symbol of the regeneration of the Falkirk area.

The preferred developer, announced in April this year, is a joint venutre between Macdonald Estates plc and Royal Bank of Scotland.

This fully integrated, mixed-use site will include 500,000 sq ft of business space, a 250,000 sq ft retail park, hotel and conference facilities and a commercial hub centered on a marina serving the Forth and Clyde Canal.  The development will create up to 3,000 permanent and 2,000 construction jobs in the area.   www.falkirkgateway.co.uk |

Projects under development

Centre of arts and Industry

The Museum Service has a wonderful collection of items that reflect the area’s proud industrial heritage. This project will explore the feasibility of providing a publicly accessible location for these items and will look at different ways of using them through programmes of outreach activities, including the arts. A brief for this work is in the process of preparation.
