  • Located between Edinburgh and Glasgow, Falkirk is right in the centre of Scotland, benefiting from excellent motorway and rail links, a port at Grangemouth, a ferry route at Rosyth and two international airports, with Edinburgh airport being only a 25 minute drive.
  • The Falkirk area has several town centres, each with their own unique identity - Falkirk, Bo'ness, Denny, Grangemouth and Stenhousemuir.
  • Falkirk has been named the most enterprising place in Scotland 2010 in the regional heats of the Enterprising Britain awards and also made it through to the final 6 for the overall UK winner.
  • A report by reallymoving.com in July 2010 found that Falkirk is the most popular area with its residents, as 66.1% of people who moved house stayed within the Falkirk area rather than moving out of the area.
  • Research by the Universities of Sheffield and Manchester in August 2008 found Falkirk was in the top 10 happiest places in Britain.
  • 93% of local companies believed the Falkirk area was a good place to do business (Falkirk Business Panel survey 2009).
  • The Bo'ness Hippodrome, Scotland's first purpose built cinema dating back to 1912, was refurbished to its pre-art deco glory and re-opened in April 2009, screening a mix of the latest releases and golden oldies.
  • In 2010 two life sized Highland cows were unveiled in Stenhousemuir, once the scene of Europe's largest cattle market. The art piece "The Heart of Stenhousemuir" was the finishing touch to the town centre's £15m regeneration scheme.
