It's all happening on the Helix

The first major Helix public event since the successful Lottery Bid proved a great success, attracting over 500 visitors of all ages.

Titled 'The Helix is Happening', the event took over the main hall of Forth Valley College on Monday 23rd November.

The purpose was threefold: to allow local people to find out more about the Helix and how to get involved; to enable them to comment on the latest masterplan; and to get their ideas for activities within the Helix area.

The project has started to consult local people as part of the statutory planning process and will be looking to involve as many communities, groups and individuals as possible in the months and years ahead.

The 'Helix is Happening' event was generously supported by over 30 community organisations. They were joined by the Helix project's consultants, artists and partner organisations, all of whom were on hand to help and inform.

Over 50 pupils from three local primary schools were amongst the first visitors and got the day off to a great start. Youngsters from the Bo'ness Multi-Media Group filmed proceedings throughout the day and interviewed guests.
