Business incubation supports young businesses by offering subsidised accommodation and access to an excellent network of support services. The objective is to allow the business to start up with minimal costs until they are able to operate on their own. They will receive mentoring support and management expertise to help grow their business. This project is targeted at a step-change in successful new business start-ups in the Falkirk area. It has picked up from successful pilot work carried out by the partners under the Enterprising Falkirk banner and the pilot incubation facilities at Grangemouth and Denny. The forward strategy has a number of themes, including a further incubator at Bo’ness and a Business Accelerator programme to nurture high growth start-ups, looking at mini corporate spin-outs, designer companies programme and matching technology with entrepreneurs.
