The Scottish e-Skills Academy has been set up as a National Centre for the Scottish Business Community to provide innovative training to individuals and organisations wishing to work in an e-world.
The Scottish e-Skills Academy is an initiative of the Universities of Strathclyde and Paisley, together with Falkirk College of Further and Higher Education, and draws upon over 30 years of combined experience of these institutions in delivering high level, high quality ICT and associated business and leadership training for the Scottish business community.
The Scottish e-Skills Academy delivers the skills that are needed by Scottish businesses. Using current key vendor certification courses, training programmes are developed against a number of priority job roles in industry to provide maximum impact in the business. This is especially helpful in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) which are facing the ongoing challenges posed by a fast changing environment. The Certification schemes include those offered from Microsoft, Cisco, Sun, Macromedia, CIW, and the Institute of Leadership and Management, and are blended together as required against the priority job roles:
-
Sales/Marketing Engineers
-
e-Business Engineers
-
System Administrators
-
Network Engineers
-
Application Developers
The Scottish e-Skills Academy offers courses that are delivered in the most flexible format using mixed practical workshops and online course activity. A particular client group is the SME community and clients from other organisations will find the courses of interest at either Professional level or Expert level.
